We are Zack and Charlene and we're so glad you found your way to our blog! We are two youngsters who are figuring out life together and enjoying every minute of it. It is our hope that you will continue to join us on our many journeys through life in the future.

Hailing from Washington State, we grew up in the shadow of some of the largest mountains in the country, along the shores of the great Pacific ocean, within the great pine forests that gave the Evergreen State it's name and among the concrete of Seattle and surrounding cities.

As Christians who believe that our time on this earth is short and valuable, we take every opportunity to get outdoors, travel, explore, meet new people and make some great memories. If you want to know more of our story, please continue reading below and if you want to receive updates from us, please enter your email at the bottom of the page.

Again, thank you for visiting and we hope you will continue to join us on our adventures!

Zack on a backpacking trip in the Appalachians

Zack on a backpacking trip in the Appalachians

Zack grew up in a military household and has always gone hunting, camping and hiking with his family. He has spent multiple weeks in British Columbia hunting moose and on cruise ships around Mexico and the Caribbean. He has visited 7 countries outside the US on his family vacations and has been to over half the states in the union. At 18, he joined the Air Force like his father and was promptly shipped off to boot camp right after graduation of high school. Zack was eventually stationed in Virginia after all of his training. He married his high school sweetheart, Charlene, that summer and she joined him in Virginia also. Now 24, Zack enjoys firearms, hunting, hiking, camping and driving his Jeep both on and off pavement.

Charlene and Camber on a walk

Charlene and Camber on a walk

Charlene comes from a large family full of outdoor enthusiasts. She grew up among adrenaline junkies and went on frequent quading trips to St. Anthony and Florence dunes. Her multiple cousins would ensure that she experienced the most she could as she was growing up. Her family consists of avid hikers and backpackers and have done everything from summiting Whitney to backpacking the 90 mile Wonderland trail around Rainier. More at home outside than inside, Charlene is always up for a good camping trip or backcountry hike. She married Zack a month after graduating and enlisted in the Air Force also. Charlene is stationed with Zack and they both reside in Virginia. You will find Charlene painting, drawing, making great food and looking for the next great adventure.

Camber at one of his favorite places, the beach!

Camber at one of his favorite places, the beach!

Camber was born on April 26, 2013 and became a part of Zack and Charlene's life that June. He is a 90 lb purebred black Labrador Retriever (but he thinks he's human). His mother was a chocolate lab and his dad a yellow. Camber is always excited to leave the house, even if it's a trip to the vet (they give him treats). You will never see him sad and he is always looking to make new friends, both four-legged and two-legged. His favorite activities include spending the day playing in the ocean waves, going for a hike with his family and sleeping around the house. Camber even joins on backpacking trips but he gets to carry his gear in is own backpack/saddlebags. Often mistaken for a black bear, you will be able to find him in the kitchen while someone is cooking or chowing down on ice cubes, his favorite treats!
